Adopting AI Culture
Why AI programmes fail on culture before they fail on technology — an Engatica interview briefing on leading the human side of adoption.
This page was one of the most-watched interviews on the original Engatica. Rather than re-host the old recording — the original series now lives with its creators — we are relaunching the theme as a written briefing, and the interview itself returns in our new series.
The briefing
Every failed AI rollout post-mortem eventually says the same sentence: the technology worked, the organisation did not change. Adopting an AI culture means three concrete things. First, leaders use the tools visibly themselves — nothing signals seriousness like a CEO showing their own agent workflows, mistakes included. Second, experimentation is budgeted and safe: teams need sandboxed access and explicit permission to break drafts, not production. Third, the narrative is augmentation with evidence — show people the drudgery the agent removed this month, in hours, not adjectives.
Questions we ask every guest on this theme
- What did your organisation stop doing when AI tools arrived?
- Where did trust break first, and how was it rebuilt?
- Which new rituals — reviews, demos, failure galleries — actually stuck?
