Mobile web and early writing

Ajit Jaokar is based in London[7]. In 2006 he and Tony Fish, whom TechCrunch described as two UK speakers on the mobile web, finished writing the book Mobile Web 2.0[6]. TechCrunch listed topics from the book including digital convergence and location-based services on mobile[6].

He works as a data scientist through his company Feynlabs, building early-stage AI prototypes for complex applications[7]. He is a contributor to Data Science Central and TechTarget[7].

Teaching at Oxford

Jaokar is Course Director for several AI programmes at the University of Oxford and a Visiting Fellow in Engineering Sciences there[1][3]. According to CERIS, those programmes range from AI engineering and low-code AI to AI in cybersecurity and risk[4]. He is Course Director of the online course AI Engineering: Agents, Vibe Coding and Full-Stack AI, a 12-week programme for developers that covers large language models, prompt engineering, agent orchestration and vibe coding[3]. He is also a tutor on Agentic Workflows: Design, Build, and Deploy Enterprise AI Agents, an online course running from 30 November to 11 December 2026[5].

He was Conference Director of the Oxford AI Summit 2026, held at Rewley House in Oxford on 4 and 5 September 2026, which the university described as the summit's third year[1]. The summit was aimed at non-developers and domain experts and introduced AI-assisted development tools such as OpenAI Codex and Anthropic's Claude Code[1]. Jaokar led sessions on AI agent fundamentals and AI governance, and presented a position paper he co-authored on using Claude Skills to teach AI literacy in schools[1].

Outside Oxford, his courses have been delivered at the London School of Economics, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and as part of The Future Society at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government[2].

Methods and research interests

His work centres on interdisciplinary uses of AI, including AI for cyber-physical systems and the integration of AI with digital twins and cybersecurity[2]. CERIS lists teaching methods and frameworks he developed, including the Jigsaw Methodology for teaching low-code data science to non-developers, an AI product manager framework, software engineering with the LLM stack, agentic RAG for cyber-physical systems, and AI for engineering sciences[2]. His applied research and consulting also cover human and AI collaboration and data governance for AI agents[4].

Jaokar is writing a book that teaches AI through mathematical foundations at high school level[1][2].

Policy and government work

Jaokar has presented on AI at Capitol Hill and the White House, the G7 summit, the World Economic Forum and the European Parliament[4]. Until November 2025 he was a fellow at the Justice AI Unit of the UK Ministry of Justice, where he worked on the rollout of large-scale AI across government, mainly on OpenAI and Microsoft 365 platforms, with a focus on AI in cyber and risk management[4]. CERIS lists the Ministry of Justice, Verizon, Nvidia, Microsoft and the European Internet Foundation among his consulting clients[4].

He teaches a two-day intensive course, AI for Policymakers, at CERIS, the Diplomatic School of Brussels[4]. Its modules cover what AI is, how AI systems work, AI's capabilities, limitations and risks, and AI and the economy, with governance and geopolitics as course themes[4].
